Time to capture what’s so very special to you?
YOUR HORSE PHOTOSHOOT
We all know, time can just run away with us – whether it’s family life, horses to look after, ride or compete. Before you know it, your daughter has grown out of her first pony, or your favourite fury confidant is no longer with you. Special milestones and memories that you’d wished you’d captured.
Location based
Emma is based in Cumbria and works across the North of England, Cheshire and Southern Scotland.
Emma travels to locations that are truly personal to her clients. Locations both horse and owner are familiar with.
This in turn helps her to create beautiful works of art which shows the real personality and connection between horse and owner.

What is a Horse Photoshoot?
A horse photoshoot is a professional equine portrait session that celebrates the connection between horse and owner.
Usually photographed at the horse’s home yard or a nearby location, the session is relaxed and unhurried, allowing natural portraits that reflect your horse’s character and the partnership you share.
The photographs are later crafted into beautiful artwork for your home, creating lasting reminders of your horse.

A Client’s Story – Why it was the perfect time for Maggie’s horse photoshoot…
It was an absolute delight to photograph 8-year-old Maggie and her incredible Dartmoor pony, Razz, in the summer of 2025.
Officially known as Pumphill Rasputin, Razz has had an amazing career in the show ring, competing successfully at both the Horse of the Year Show and the Royal International.
Once a stallion (until the age of 9), he was now 17 and enjoying a more relaxed pace of life. And his newest role? Being the most wonderful companion to his youngest (and tiniest!) jockey yet – Maggie.

From past experiences to helping others
“My first pony was Turin Hill Piper O’Dundee. An incredible Highland pony who taught me so much through my teens. He was the perfect first pony. I unfortunately lost him at 17 years old to Cushings disease.
This is the only image I have left of him and me together. The quality is poor and the size is small. It was then I realised the hard way, the importance of investing in quality Wall Art, so that you can keep your memories forever.”

Got some questions?
01.
What if the weather is terrible?
A few days before your location horse shoot, I’ll be checking several weather apps to see what’s predicted on your day. If the weather is dry and not too windy, we’ll go for it.
If there are showers forecast, we can still go ahead, especially if you have a barn we can retreat to and photograph inside – while the rain passes by.
02.
Do you offer a style guide?
Yes. On signing up for your Horse Portrait Session, you will receive a style guide to help you make your clothing choices for the day. You’ll also receive several additional emails filled with helpful tips and information to ensure you feel fully prepared and get the most out of your experience. You may also find this blog post ‘What to Wear’ useful.
03.
Where are you based and how far do you travel?
I am based in the Lake District, England, but can travel anywhere in the UK.
If your location is within 2 hours driving, no additional travel expenses are charged. Contact Emma for a quote.
04.
Can I include members of the family in the horse photoshoot?
Absolutely, but please let me know prior to your horse shoot who will be attending. The more you can tell me prior to your session, the more we can plan and make it just perfect for you.
05.
Can I include my dog/dogs too?
Yes, I love to photograph the whole family. Again, the more participants and animals included in the shoot, the more we may need additional helpers behind the scenes. By letting me know in advance, the better we can plan.
06.
I have lots more questions!
Take a look at my FAQ page, which has more information.
If you have a question that is not answered there, please do get in touch.

Ellen, Denise & Neli
CHESHIRE
From the moment we met Emma we felt at ease, we’d spoken several times before our horse photoshoot and this really helped us, as Emma knew so much about us and Neli.
The portrait session was done at Neli’s pace and pleased to say Neli loved the attention and was a star.
Emma captured so many beautiful Photographs that when we joined up again to choose we didn’t panic as we were allowed to take our time going back and forth. They were truly exquisite!
Once decisions had been made, frames chosen the artwork (it truly is art!), the order arrived swiftly and safely, Emma kept in touch with us throughout every step. I am so proud of our pictures, they are absolutely beautiful.

An amazing experience and the perfect moment capturing pictures.
Emma was brilliant from start to finish guiding us through the process, asking why we wanted to do this, advising on things to wear, where we wanted to have the pictures taken and being on weather watch in the days leading upto the photo shoot.
On the day she put you at ease suggesting where to start the shoot and what she wanted. She then explained the next process and showed samples of the frames etc.
A couple of weeks later we had our wonderful reveal, if we could’ve we’d have bought them all, choosing 1/2 was hard. She said it would be a couple of weeks before our chosen pictures would arrive but it was more like a week, Emma kept you informed all along as to when they would arrive.
We love our Wall Art and they will be something to treasure for a long time.

My horse photoshoot session was amazing. Emma was brilliant in communicating from booking to pre portrait and receiving artwork. Very professional service.
On the portrait, Emma was very supportive and guiding on what to do to get the best pictures on the day!
The gallery reveal via Zoom was excellent and enabled me to see how my artwork would look in lounge.
I now have an amazing Folio box and wall art of me and my horse Jen which I can enjoy and treasure for years to come! This is well worth doing with your special equines!
