Horse Photoshoot in Northumberland | India, Annie and Kenny

This article shares India’s Northumberland horse photoshoot with equine portrait photographer Emma Campbell.

India’s equine portrait session in Northumberland was arranged as a very special 16th birthday gift.

India’s session included her beautiful Irish Draught mare, Annie, and her partner in crime, Kenny the Shetland! With Annie’s elegance and Kenny’s character, it was a fabulous opportunity to celebrate this brilliant team and create some beautiful finished artwork India can enjoy every day at home.

A Perfect 16th Birthday Gift

Annie had come to live with India last July, with Kenny the Shetland in tow. Since then, India and Annie have come such a long way together, recently qualifying for ACE in both 70cm and 80cm classes, and jumping 1.1m with ease.

They make such a formidable team, and this special portrait session was a lovely way to celebrate all they have achieved together.

The weather was perfect for the shoot, with light cloud creating such lovely soft light.

An Equine Portrait Session in Northumberland

As with all my equine portrait sessions, the aim was to create portraits that felt natural, relaxed and personal. The session was carefully guided, but never rushed, giving India, Annie and Kenny time to settle and enjoy the experience.

My horse photoshoots are never about standing awkwardly in front of a camera. They are about helping you feel relaxed, comfortable and yourself, while capturing the connection, character and relationship you share with your horse in a way that feels true to you.

Finished Artwork

After the session, India chose several fine art mounted prints, as well as a large, stunning framed print of her favourite photograph.

That framed portrait is now hanging proudly in her home for her to see every day.

Creating finished artwork is such an important part of my equine portrait sessions. Photographs are wonderful, but when they are created as beautiful artwork for your home, they become part of everyday life.

For India, her framed portrait is now a daily reminder of Annie, Kenny and this very special chapter.

India’s Kind Words

It was wonderful to receive such fabulous feedback from India after her photoshoot:

“Obsessed is an understatement! Emma made the experience so calm and natural, even managing to get both of them in some photos together. Definitely someone I would recommend!”

It was lovely to hear how much she enjoyed the experience!

Horse Photoshoot in Northumberland?

I regularly travel for horse photoshoots across the North of England, including Northumberland, Cumbria, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cheshire and Southern Scotland.

Whether you would love to celebrate a milestone birthday, a young rider’s journey, a horse of a lifetime, or simply the relationship you share with your horse, an Equine Portrait Session is a beautiful way to preserve those memories.

Your horse does not need to behave perfectly, and you do not need to feel confident in front of the camera. I’ll guide you through the whole experience, from planning your session to choosing the finished artwork you would most love to enjoy in your home.

If you are looking for a horse photoshoot in Northumberland, I’d be delighted to hear from you.
