A horse photoshoot, is a personal experience and or many of us, stepping in front of the camera can feel daunting.
I completely understand, as I’m about to hit 50, and I have lots of insecurities.
But a while ago, I took the plunge and booked a professional horse photoshoot, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made.
Taking the Plunge
I entrusted the talented brand photographer Lisa Kershaw, based in Yorkshire, to capture something truly special—memories with my Fell pony, Louie. While I initially wanted professional images for my website and marketing, I quickly realised this was about something much more meaningful.
Louie came to me as a semi-feral 3-year-old, having spent his early years doing conservation work on the Cumbria Fells. Now, at 9, we’ve built a bond like no other, and I wanted to celebrate that journey through photographs.

Going through a professional equine photoshoot gave me a whole new perspective—it allowed me to step into my clients’ shoes. And to my surprise, I absolutely loved the experience! I now have a collection of beautiful images, including one of Louie and me that I will treasure forever.
