Emma Joins Judging Panel – British Photography Awards

British Photography Awards - Emma Campbell Horse photographer - 2024 Judge

British Photography Awards

This summer, it has been an absolute honour to join the panel of judges for The British Photography Awards (BPA).

The national photography competition, which has now closed for entries this year, always attracts an incredible range of work within its many categories, including macro, portrait, wedding, sports, pet, fashion, architecture, and much more.

Within my role as a judge, it’s such a privilege to see the passion and dedication in the work that is submitted.  Images are powerful, but especially so when the photographer has put their whole heart, soul, time and dedication into creating their work.  I never tire of admiring the commitment and the passion of fellow photographers.

And, I fundamentally believe that competitions can play an important role in helping individuals push their craft and develop.  Each one of us is on a continual, personal learning journey – so to everyone who participated, huge congratulations.

And many thanks to Hugo Donnithorne-Tait for inviting me to judge. I hope my small part has helped to continue the brilliant work the BPA does for nurturing British talent from around the world and raising funds for some amazing charities at the same time.

About the British Photography Awards

BPA are a UK-based organisation that celebrates photography through various events, including its annual charity-focused photography competition, virtual and live galleries, an awards evening and roadshow.

The BPA competition is open to every photographer based in the UK, no matter their nationality, and British photographers worldwide.

All the proceeds from the competition go to charities, such as Born Free, Help the Heroes, Shelter, The Wildlife Trusts and The Racehorse Sanctuary.

BPA is involved in various innovative projects, including pioneering virtual gallery spaces and curating a BPA collection in the metaverse, where photographers are empowered to participate.

Additionally, BPA collaborates with their sister project, The American Photography Awards, to support U.S. artists and charities.
