Emma and Sonic’s Story – Celebrating an incredible pony

It all starts with listening. Hearing your story – the one that matters most. The one about a pony who changed your world.
When you talk about your horse, I listen for what makes them different. What they’ve carried you through. How they’ve shaped who you are. That’s the part that matters most to me – because it’s the foundation for everything we’ll create together.
That’s exactly how it was with Emma and her pony, Sonic.
She’s had him since childhood. He taught her far more than just riding. He showed her how to sit quietly, stay balanced, and trust a pony who knew his job inside out. He gave her confidence and resilience, and a love of riding that’s lasted a lifetime.
Even after he injured a tendon in his teens and their competitive days began to wind down, Sonic remained a much-loved family member.
“We’re a family where, once a horse comes, they rarely leave,” Emma says. And the idea of not seeing him waiting at the gate was something she simply couldn’t imagine.
Now aged 28, Sonic is still very much part of daily life, and having a portrait of him on the wall is Emma’s way of honouring everything he’s given her. “He’s a piece of the family,” she says.
“He won’t be around forever, but having him up on the wall makes me feel happy and grateful. It’s something that lasts, and something we’ll always have to remember him by.”
Booking an equine portrait session with me always starts with listening.
Hearing your story – the moments that matter most, the things you treasure.
What makes this horse or pony, more than any other, so important to you? Hearing about the part they’ve played in your life – and perhaps your family’s too.
And then, together, we create the magic.
If you feel the time is right to book your horse photoshoot, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
