Meet 28-year-old Sonic, Emma Robinson’s incredible Golden Oldie pony.
For the last 19 years, he’s been so instrumental in her life. He was the special pony that taught and guided her through her younger years.
“He taught me to sit tight, as he was fast and knew his job. But also to stay a quiet rider and let him do his thing. I enjoyed every rally, competition, and pleasure ride we went on. We have had so many amazing moments and adventures together.”
RECOGNISING A VERY SPECIAL PONY
Sonic’s competition life was unfortunately shortened by a tendon split when he was in his teens. Despite recovering well, Emma was growing too tall for him; but the family couldn’t let him go. He has stayed as a huge member of the family ever since.
Equine Portrait Session in the Eden Valley
We recently took Sonic for a celebratory portrait session in the Eden Valley. Despite the intermittent rain, you can clearly see the amazing connection this pair has. And Sonic was just a cool dude!!
Emma will soon receive a beautiful fine art portrait frame of her favourite photograph, so she can enjoy Sonic in her home, for a very long time in the future.
